About the Author

Dr. Prasanna Chandra, Director of the Centre for Financial Management, holds an MBA and PhD in Finance. With nearly five decades of teaching experience in postgraduate and executive education, he spent two decades as a finance professor at the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, and two years as a visiting professor at Southern Illinois University. He’s served on numerous committees, including the Capital Issues Advisory Committee, the High Powered Committee on Insurance Sector Reforms, and the SEBI Committee on Derivatives, and on the boards of organizations such as Torrent Pharmaceuticals, Power Finance Corporation, and several others. He has also consulted for many organizations and conducted executive seminars for numerous companies including TCS, Infosys, Tata Motors, and many more. He is the author of ten other books on finance topics such as strategic financial management, investment analysis, and corporate valuation, and has written over 70 articles for professional journals and business periodicals. Dr. Chandra is a Fulbright Scholar and UNDP Fellow, and recipient of the Best Teacher Award from the Association of Indian Management Schools.
