About the Author

Eric Van Lustbader’s writing career began with *The Sunset Warrior* in 1975. He has since authored over twenty-five bestselling novels, including *The Ninja*, which introduced the enduring character Nicholas Linnear in a series of five subsequent bestsellers. His novels, translated into over twenty languages, are worldwide bestsellers. A Columbia College graduate with a Sociology degree, he also had successful careers in New York City public schools and the music business before becoming a full-time writer. He wrote two successful fantasy series, *The Pearl* and *The Sunset Warrior Cycle*, along with numerous short stories, screenplays, and novellas, including three short stories published in 1999 (“Hush,” “Slow Burn,” and “An Exultation of Termagants”) and the short novel *Art Kills* (2000).
