About the Author

Arthur Haley was born in 1920 in Luton, where he attended school and then worked as an office boy and clerk. At the age of 19, during World War II outbreak, he joined the Royal Air Force and was promoted to pilot and flight lieutenant. He immigrated to Canada in 1974 and worked as a real estate salesman, business magazine editor, and sales and advertising manager. In 1956, he became an overnight success with the television series Into Danger, which ran worldwide and was later turned into a novel and film, leading him to become a full-time writer. He is a well-known author of 11 novels published in 27 languages. Arthur Haley died on November 24, 2004.
