About the Author
Ernest Miller Hemingway, born in 1899, was one of the most prolific and popular American authors of the twentieth century. He published his first novel, The Sun Also Rises in 1926, and many of his written works are considered classics of American literature. He has authored novels like To Have And Have Not , For Whom The Bell Tolls, and The Old Man And The Sea. Born and raised in Illinois, Hemingway was married four times. Hemingway also won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction and Nobel Prize in 1953 and 1954, respectively. In 1952, he decided to go for an African safari, but was almost killed in two successive plane crashes which rendered constant illness and pain for him for the remainder of his life. He committed suicide in the summer of 1961 in his home in Ketchum, Idaho.
